Twitter and the Such

So after today's class I can't ever say that I've never had a twitter, alas. I figured that I would probably be the last person on earth who would ever have a twitter but I suppose that Kristin and Jeff proved me wrong. I'm still not sure how I would feel about using this in a classroom setting however. I suppose that I could see how one might be able to incorporate a class twitter account into a class but I almost feel like that might be more trouble than it's worth. Although this class still has a few more sessions to perhaps change my mind, until then I imagine that I'll be keeping my tweets to a minimum.

  1. Believe me, I feel the same way. However, as I posted on another blog, Twitter might be useful outside of class. If you're out sick with a sub then you could ask your class to tweet after class to let you know how it went, if they have questions, etc. I'm trying to find some practical use for the stuff they're teaching us otherwise I'd be totally depressed about wasting good brain cells on it.

  2. Those are good ways of using twitter. Friday was hard--not quite emotionally devastating...but getting there--because I too prided myself on being someone who would never have a twitter. I don't know if I'll ever reform myself of facebook or if that would be wise to do, even. But twitter just seems more confusing than helpful in terms of classrooms. We shall see what happens.

  3. It so happens, Sean, that I just got word about someone who had collected 100 history-related twitter feeds. Here's the link...maybe you'll find a treasure!
